In another universe, this perpetually underrated alt-pop duo would be at least as big as, oh, Stone Temple Pilots. "After Hours," "Rules Don't Stop," "The Great Escape," "Break It Up," "It's a Hit," "This Scene Is Dead," "Nice Guys" and "What's the Word" would comprise a greatest hits album to rival The Killers. As is the case with most bands, album #4 isn't packed with hits. But they're not out of ideas, like the galloping two-hand guitar tapping on "Dumb Luck," or this sarcastic missive from the opener: "When I said that you were something else / I didn't mean it as a compliment."
